
What is the first step to writing a book that changes lives?
Have you been asking yourself the question about writing a bestselling book or about how to become a bestselling author? It is not about how good you can write a book.
To write a book that makes a difference, you need to understand the purpose of why you are writing the book. This is one thing that a lot of authors pay less attention to while writing their books. However, it is the primary drive behind the success of the book. The inability to understand the purpose of writing a book explains why some authors spend time convincing people to buy their book. By the time you start convincing anybody to buy your book, they will feel they’re doing you a favor by buying the book. Convincing only happens when you do not take out time to think about the purpose of your book.
Do not just write because you think people need what you have. You need to understand that nobody needs what you are offering except you know what they want. There you need to be super clear in the purpose of your book.
It is all about aligning your book writing passion with your book purpose

Why are you writing a book?
I know many people who have written great books and the books just hang in there on Amazon doing nothing. This is because the book did not align with its purpose. What is the purpose of your writing a book? Are you just motivated to write a book because you have been communicating with some friends and they said, oh, wow this is good, and you thought all this could make a good book?
I’m going to use myself as an example, I had written 3 books before I wrote my first book that makes it different titled “Skyrocket your business at zero cost”. My first book was titled “Get off your comfort zone”, the second book was titled “Walk to your desired job” and the third book was titled “The ABC of Success in Exams”. When I wrote these books, my purpose was not to become a motivational speaker, career development coach, or success coach. Although I had some knowledge about these topics, my main purpose at the time I wrote the book was in community development and in business development. Although the books made some impact, they did not really make a difference in my life. This was because at that specific time the books were not promoting my main brand, which was community development and business development. My passion and my purpose did not align at that particular point. When your passion does not align with your vision and purpose, there is a lack of motivation to promote your passion.
Making a difference with your book-writing career.
When I finally understood what it takes to write a book that makes a difference, I wrote the book that made the difference in my career. The first book that made a difference in my life was titled “Skyrocket your business at zero cost”. The book made a difference because I was able to align my purpose of the book with my bigger purpose and vision. The book became my top brand promoter and made me more visible in the eyes of my audience. The book helped me to have more followers on social media and helped me launch my own business and movement in less than no time.
What made the difference? I was able to write the purpose of my book into the book. Unlike the first three books where my focus was purely on motivating my audience to take an action. This book outlined my reason and my call to action. It because one of the best books I have written. This is because it is helping to grow my business.
The major lesson I grasped from writing a book that makes the difference is that if you write a book that does not promote your brand, and helps to connect you to the right people who need your services, you will be less motivated to promote it.
When your main job is not your passion, you struggle to make it happen. When your main job is your passion, you see every possibility even when it seem impossible.
Who is the ideal reader for your book?

The second question you have to answer in other to write a book that will change your life and the life of your reader is ‘who is the ideal reader?’ This is what is either going to ease the entire writing process or make it complicated. It is also what is going to determine if you will be a bestselling author or not. When you know your ideal reader very well, you can easily figure out what problem they are going through and how your book will help them solve the problem. This is the key to writing a profitable book. If you are not unable to depict how valuable the results you write in your book are to the reader, it will be very difficult for you to sell. Most bestselling authors sell all the copies of their books in the writing process. This is explained the fact that, if I read a book and it is helpful, I will recommend it to a friend without thinking that I am doing the author a marketing favor. However, if I find less value in the book, I will not be motivated to market it except I have an incentive for marketing it.
Book writing is about having a heart-to-heart conversation with the ideal reader, rather than being an expert writer.
